An opportunity to customise your own Charter. Choose your preferred catch. Marlin, Hapuka, Kingfish or Tuna. Tell us if your would prefer a 1, 2 or 3 day charter and roughly the dates you would like to go. We can work out the rest for you. We have the gear or you can bring your own if you prefer. This charter is suitable for groups of up to 6 people with onboard accommodation if required.

The warmer months have the deep waters off Raglan and out towards the Trench full of Marlin with high numbers being tagged and released. These deep waters are also perfect for catching Hapuka (soo good to eat). While a little closer in has the best Kingi spots.

The Tuna season kicks in for winter fishing on the East Coast and Darron takes the ‘Sea Prophet’ round to operate out of Whakatane / Waihau Bay.

Our Pricing Is Simple

We offer a range of charters to target the fish species that you’re after. Catering for the beginner to the super experienced. We have it all. Shared or Private. ½ day, full day and even 3-day.
Private Charter
$ 2000
For up to 14 ppl
Additional fee of $150pp for extra ppl
Bottom fishing targeting snapper.
Suitable for groups wanting the whole boat to themselves.
  • Fee is $2000 for up to 14 people. Additional fee of $150 pp for extra people over 14 up to our maximum of 18 people.
  • Once your charter is booked a deposit of $500 is required to confirm the booking.
  • Each Charter has an allocated timeframe of 6 hours. 7am – 1pm and 2pm – 8pm during summer.

It doesn't matter what you're wearing, but with fish scales flying around, we would recommend wearing something you don’t mind getting down and dirty in. We recommend long sleeves and long pants along with plenty of sunscreen to prevent sunburn. Bring a hat, sunglasses, a warm and/or a windproof jacket. Regular street shoes or sneakers will be fine to wear on the boat.

When you charter the boat, we can accommodate max 18 people comfortably. We do small, personalised groups of 13 - 18 anglers.

Sorry we can't return to port to drop off one person. We fish outside of the harbour and could be an hour off shore. Please take your own sea sick remedies.

Through the years, we have guided everyone from movie stars to famous anglers. Regardless of your experience level, we want you to have a good time. We can help you! We’re happy to rig your lines, bait your hooks, take fish off your line and even help you clean your catch.

Your catch is entirely dependent on conditions. Here are a few fish you can expect in the fishing grounds: Snapper, Gurnard, Kahawai, Trevally, Tarakihi, Kingfish.

There is never any guarantee as to how many fish you will catch. Some trips will always be more successful than others. Shorter fishing trips give you less time to fish, and the results can be more variable. Longer full day trips take you to more remote waters with a greater variety of fish. However, we generally have successful trips.

A refund is payable if a cancellation is received with adequate time to rebook the spot or charter. Any deposit paid will not be refunded if the person/s cancel late without enough time to rebook the spot or charter or the person/s are a no show on the day. If the charter is cancelled by us for reasons of bad weather or conditions, a mutually suitable reschedule date is attempted or failing that a full refund is given.
